Over the next month, we turn to a venture that began with our Christian brothers and sisters in the New Zealand and Australia – the reshaping of part of the Revised Common Lectionary by adding to it a new season... The Season of Creation.

During this time we are being invited to:
* celebrate Earth as a sacred planet filled with God’s vibrant presence;
* embrace our kin in creation as our extended family;
* confess our sin against creation and empathize with a groaning creation;
* go forth on a mission to be partners in the healing of creation.

EMUMC will field a team of seven capable volunteers for the United Way Day of Caring in Charleston on Sept. 16 from 9am  to 3pm.  While our task had not been assigned as of press time, more than 36 projects such as painting, landscaping, cleaning, and office work will be completed at nonprofit organizations around Charleston on that special work day.  This marks the first involvement of EMUMC in this decades long, citywide, all volunteer initiative.  EMUMC team members will receive information on the task and address as Cheryl Davis (304-951-7188)  learns it from United Way. Thanks for helping!
